Thank you for supporting Kevin´s Cookies for the Troops campaign.  Today (Saturday, December 1) we baked, boxed, and shipped over 285 dozen cookies!  We sent cookies to troops in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, on ships, in field hospitals, and other deployed locations.  Each dozen was boxed, labeled, and prayed for with love by a FABULOUS crew of Kevin's staff and volunteers.  (Look for pictures of all the fun later this week on the website.)

In each box of cookies, we included the messages that you submitted and a letter from us here at Kevin's.  (The text of the letter is at the bottom of this page if you would like to read it.)  This effort would not have been possible without YOU!  Thank you so much for submitting the names of your loved ones and for all of your kind words of encouragement. 

Thanks most of all for supporting our fellow Americans who are deployed. The Kevin´s family wishes you and your family very happy holidays, a merry Christmas, a happy New Year – and Peace on Earth.

Text of the Letter Sent to the Troops:

I am pleased to send you a dozen cookies as a part of our Cookies for the Troops campaign.  Your name was submitted by one of your loved ones who wanted to make sure you know that you are loved and missed while serving our country overseas – especially during the holidays. 

Your willingness to put your life on hold and serve your country is an awesome example of commitment and dedication that we are proud of back home.  That is true heroism:  ordinary people doing extraordinary things.  And make no mistake – it is an extraordinary thing to lay everything down and serve where you are called to serve.

Please enjoy these cookies, and hopefully they will be a reminder of all of the good things waiting for you when you get home.  I also hope that they remind you of your loved ones who are waiting for your return.  

Finally, I want you to know that prior to sending these cookies, members of my church and I prayed for you specifically by name.  We prayed for you to be strong, for you to come home safely, and for you to have God’s peace no matter what the circumstances are.  And we prayed for your family and loved ones to be provided for and have comfort while you are away.
